For our next collection we decided to bring you a little something from the streets of 🇨🇲 to 🇮🇳. We wanted to experiment with ‘Kente cloth given its unique pattern and significance. With this collection we want to share with y’all a piece of culture & celebrate the people of Western Africa.

Kente is a very special type of silk & cotton fabric made of interwoven cloth stripes and is native to the people of Ghana. Traditionally worn by royalty & only on special occasions, Kente has since gained popularity and become widespread thanks to its bold colors & unique patterns identifiable worldwide as being representative of Western African culture.

Kente is more than a cloth - it is a meaningful sartorial device, as every aspect of its aesthetic design is intended as communication.

The colors of the cloth each symbolize the following: gold = status/serenity, yellow = fertility, green = renewal, blue = pure spirit/harmony, red = passion, black = union with ancestors/spiritual awareness.
